Joe Biden's dirty tricks escape media scrutiny
Richard Nixon's Donald Segretti an amateur in comparison
Donald Segretti was President Richard Nixon’s “dirty tricks” impresario in the 1972 presidential campaign who also featured in the Watergate scandal. He was convicted of three misdemeanors and served 4 1/2 months in prison. Among other things, Segretti ordered stink bombs to be thrown into the Tampa headquarters of Ed Muskie. He also had his guys order huge quantities of flowers, pizzas, buckets of fried chicken and ordered them in the name of one of Muskie’s campaign workers and had them sent to Muskie’s hotel.
Like Nixon, and like the professional political class generally, Joe Biden is no choir boy. Indeed, Diogenes with his lamp could not find a single honest man or woman among them. Mr. Biden is philosophically empty, morally tainted, and lives for power and celebrity alone. He is the Titanic to Trump’s Hindenburg.
Mr. Biden’s history of disdain for truth and honesty in politics is long. During his multiple campaigns, he claimed he had finished in the top half of his law school. Untrue. He claimed he attended law school at Syracuse University on a full scholarship. Untrue. He claimed he had graduated from the University of Delaware with three degrees. Untrue. These untruths were not within the margin of error tolerated in polling. Biden graduated 76th out of a law school class of 85. He graduated from Delaware 506th in a class of 688 with a “C” average—earmarks of doltishness.
Biden also indulged in plagiarism, at least first cousin to lying. Among other things, he stole from British Labor Party leader Neil Kinnock, Robert Kennedy, and Hubert Humphrey without attribution. When it comes to cerebral capacity, Biden is till riding with training wheels.
Mr. Biden loudly proclaimed presidential wars not declared by Congress were impeachable offenses when serving as Senator and challenging President George W. Bush for the White House. But presidential wars became de rigueur when Mr. Biden occupied the White House as Vice President and President.
President Biden’s cover-up of his ordering the destruction of Nord Stream 1 and Nord Stream 2 pipelines as demonstrated by Pulitzer Prize investigative reporter Sy Hersh is worse than Nixon’s cover-up of the Watergate burglary.
(Is Republican Congressman George Santos Joe Biden reincarnated?)
The latest Biden obliquity is revealed by declassified congressional testimony before the House Judiciary Committee. It shows that during the 2020 presidential campaign, Biden’s then senior campaign official Tony Blinken reached out to former Deputy Director of the CIA, Mike Morrell, impliedly suggesting he would be a strong candidate for CIA Director if he assisted in knocking down a New York Post story that Hunter Biden’s laptop contained evidence of corrupt business dealings by the Biden family. Morrell took the bait accordingly. The Committee elaborated on its website as follows:
Michael Morell, one of the 51 signatories of the “Public Statement on the Hunter Biden Emails,” testified that U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken, then senior advisor to the Biden campaign, was the impetus of the public statement signed in October 2020 that falsely implied the New York Post’s reporting about Hunter Biden was the product of Russian disinformation.
On October 14, 2020, the New York Post published a report detailing how Hunter Biden used the position and influence of his father, now-President Joe Biden, for personal gain with the apparent awareness of President Biden. The article reported on several emails found on a laptop belonging to Hunter Biden that he had abandoned in a Delaware computer shop. The contents of the emails cast doubt on President Biden’s previous denials of speaking to his son about his international business dealings.
Within five days of the article, on October 19, 2020, 51 former intelligence officials released a public statement attempting to discredit the contents of the New York Post’s reporting about Hunter Biden, stating that the story “has all the classic earmarks of a Russian information operation.” News publications immediately ran with the statement, with Politico publishing a story with the conclusive headline, “Hunter Biden story is Russian disinfo, dozens of former officials say.” During the final presidential debate on October 22, then-Vice President Biden cited the public statement to rebut President Trump’s criticism of the Biden family business dealings.
Morell testified that his communication with Blinken was one of a few communications he had with the Biden campaign, explaining that he also received a call from Steve Ricchetti, Chairman of the Biden campaign, following the October 22 debate to thank him for writing the statement. Morell also explained that the Biden campaign helped to strategize about the public release of the statement. Morell further explained that one of his two goals in releasing the statement was to help then-Vice President Biden in the debate and to assist him in winning the election.
Preaching ethnics and honesty to Joe Biden is like reading Shakespeare to a herd of cattle. We are re-living the Age of Nero, Caligula, and Claudius.
