Today, the United States filed criminal charges against a retired American diplomat, Manuel Rocha, for allegedly spying for Cuba since 1981 while serving in high Latin American diplomatic posts, including ambassador to the bantamweight country of Bolivia which has run through seventeen (17) constitutions since independence in 1825 culminating in a “Plurinational Community Social State.”
The criminal charges predicably omitted any damage to the United States caused by the alleged espionage. If there were any, the evidence would be immediately declassified to vilify Cuba and justify United States sanctions that have endured since 1960 without result.
Spying is a hoax to justify intelligence agencies everywhere in demanding opulent budgets. Spying has never materially changed the course of human events. ULTRA was not the secret for defeating the Nazis in World War II. Purple was not key to defeating Japan in World War II. The U.S. intelligence community fumbled 9/11. Fabled Mossad fumbled October 7. The Soviet KGB fumbled Operation Barbarossa. The CIA underestimated Chinese soldiers in the Korean War by 3 million.
Spying is a waste of time and resources—a super-expensive placebo to create an appearance of omniscience. The CIA was born in 1947 as an ornament to the emerging American Empire. A spy agency is inherent in Empire which turns fleas into elephants to justify permanent war and a military-industrial-security complex. Spy agencies are like the Emperor’s new clothes.
Never lose sleep over a spy story-sound and fury signifying nothing.
